Website Launch Checklist: Test The Customer Journey, Not Just The Homepage
Independent Web Studio

Launch day is not the moment to discover whether the contact form works. Treat the launch as a controlled verification of the whole visitor journey—from finding a page to completing the action the business needs.

Test the site on a real phone and more than one browser. Open the primary navigation, key service pages, calls to action, privacy or policy links, and any external destinations. Submit every meaningful form with a test that reaches the intended recipient or system. Confirm that the visitor sees a clear success state and that the business can tell what happened next.
Check essential technical conditions: the correct production URL is live, old important URLs redirect where necessary, HTTPS works, page titles and descriptions are present where intended, no staging or private areas are publicly exposed, analytics/measurement is configured as agreed, and the current backup or rollback path is known. Document what was tested and the final approval.
Do not make guarantees about rankings, uptime, or security that you cannot control. What you can promise is a careful launch process and transparent follow-through when something needs attention.
Definition of done: the key customer path works on mobile, all primary links and forms are verified, the team knows the rollback path, and the client has approved the public launch.
